Respiratory Physiotherapy

At Potentiate Rehab, our Respiratory Physiotherapy services support NDIS participants living with respiratory challenges due to COPD, late-stage neurodegenerative conditions (Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Cerebal Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, MSA, SMA etc.), complex respiratory conditions involving tracheostomy/laryngectomy, and clients on ventilators. Our goal is to help participants optimise lung function, improve breathing efficiency, and maintain independence in daily life. We provide individualised respiratory management plans, pulmonary optimisation, and pulmonary rehabilitation programs, tailored to each participant’s abilities and goals.

Our approach includes breathing exercises for shortness of breath, carer training, and the prescription and guidance of assistive technology such as cough assist devices and suctioning equipment. All interventions are evidence-based, with objective outcome measures used to monitor progress and ensure therapy is effective. Detailed reports are provided for participants, families, and support coordinators, helping guide ongoing care, access NDIS funding, and support continuity across services.
